NOW has announced its enthusiastic endorsement of Hillary Clinton for President. She is the very antithesis of a feminist, and it's really quite ridiculous for anyone, including her, to pretend otherwise.
Her job at the Rose Law Firm? Bill Clinton.
Her partnership at the Rose Law Firm? Bill Clinton
First Lady? Bill Clinton
A shot at health care "reform?" Bill Clinton
U.S. Senator from New York? Bill Clinton
Presidential candidate? Bill Clinton
Can anyone name me a single thing, since college, that she has achieved without him? Would we even have heard of her without him?
I am not one of the people who think that the Clinton marriage has anything to do with love and respect. You don't cheat on someone you love and respect. You don't subject someone you love and respect to public ridicule. Quite frankly, I don't think he's ever given her a single second's thought. Ditto for her.
He needed her for his purposes, and she needed him for hers. She still needs him for hers. When she worried that Obama might surpass her in fundraising, she trotted out ol' Bubba. When her naturally prickly personality causes trouble along the way, she'll trot him out again. Money running low? Here he'll come.
She stayed married to a man who subjected her to international humiliation just to get where she is today.
Feminist? Not even close.
