On October 2, 2007, by a vote of 376-0, the House of Representatives passed a resolution that "recognized the Islamic faith as one of the great religions of the world" and "acknowledging the onset of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting and spiritual renewal, and conveyed its respect to Muslims." The resolution also commended those who reject hatred.
On December 11, 2007, by a vote of 372-9, the House passed a resolution that recognized "the Christian faith as one of the great relions of the world" and acknowledged "the international religious and historical importance of Christmas and the Christian faith."
Who were these nine naysayers:
Gary Ackerman (D) - Yvette Clarke (D) - Dianna DeGette (D) - Alcee Hastings (D) - Barbara Lee (D) - Jim McDermott (D) - Robert Scott (D) - Pete Stark (D) - Lynn Woolsey (D)
In addition, ten simply voted present:

I'm sensing a trend.
In my opinion, Islam is no longer one of the great religions of the world. It lost that right when we learned that young men were being seduced into killing themselves, and others, by the promise of 72 virgins in paradise. That's what all the bloodshed and chaos is about? Some goal.
The great religions don't just offer hope for the next life, they offer hope for this one as well.
Islam will never be great as long as its adherents call for the execution of teachers who name their teddy bears Mohammed, punish victims of rape, allow fathers to murder their daughters, call for the destruction of Israel, and hide in caves plotting ever more destruction in a delusional quest for world domination.
Nineteen people could call this one of the world's great religions but not Christianity?
God is not mocked. It is appointed to each man once to die, then the judgment. What will these people say when they stand before their Maker?
