One of the reasons we have been given for the need to do something about global warming/climate change right now is that not doing something will lead to mass starvation around the world, which in turn will cause wars as people compete for the dwindling food supplies. Well as daily headlines are shouting out, trying to "fix" the "crisis" is what is actually causing starvation and fights over food.
And, as more and more land is devoted to growing corn for our gas tanks, the problem will only worsen. Furthermore, there are reports that the use of ethanol not only makes global warming worse, it creates more pollution.
For decades now, Congress hasn't taken an active interest in looking out for America's best interests. It has made sure that we remained dependent on foreign oil. Now, they have jumped on the global warming/climate change bandwagon and said giddy-up. So, as the economy worsens with the price of gas and food rising on a daily basis, as a direct result of their willful and sustained ignorance and incompetence, what is Congress doing to actually help America? Well, I read where the House of Representatives is going to look into whether or not the college Bowl Championship Series is illegal.
Thank God these bloated gasbags have found something to take their minds off steroids in baseball.
