Where is the America of Rosie the Riveter?
The democrats are against drilling. Have been for years. Now that we really (really, really) need our own resources, they are still against it. They have two main arguments against drilling: (1) We can’t drill our way out of this. Since we haven’t tried, there’s no way to know this. (2) Even if we started drilling now, it would take years (as much as 10) to see any results.
Really? What can America do when it’s properly motivated?
During the War Years (1939-1945) America churned out (approximately):
84,027 tanks (1,167 per month)
631,873 Jeeps (8,776 per month)
372,431 artillery pieces (5,172 per month)
87,620 warships (1,216 per month)
54,000 torpedoes (750 per month)
37,701,000 bombs (523,625 per month)
12,573,000 rifles/carbines (174,625 per month)
324,750 aircraft (4,510 per month)
47,000,000 tons of ammunition (652,777 tons per month)
Furthermore, the ALCAN Highway was completed in a little under 8 months.
All of this was done with the technology available at the time. Imagine what we could do with today’s technology. Due to democrat intransigence, however, we’re not even allowed to try.
