BO ran on a platform of, among other things, restoring America's image and standing in the world. For the record, the rest of the world is feeding at our trough, slurping happily. Their actions are tantamount to a teenager who's in his room on his computer (paid for by his parents) with the TV and/or stereo (paid for by his parents) on in the background, surfing the net (DSL connection and account paid for by his parents), talking on his cell phone (phone and service paid for by his parents) about how rotten his parents are. But, I digress.
So exactly how is BO improving our image in the world? Well, he's letting a small, rag-tag bunch of Somali pirates hold an American sea captain hostage. Navy ships are in the area, as is a Navy plane. Meanwhile, the captain is being held hostage on a small lifeboat, that is out of gas and is, therefore, stranded in the middle of the ocean. And the Leader of the Free World cannot bring this "crisis" to an end? Aren't our Marine snipers the best in the world? What bout our Navy Seals? Pretty soon, we're probably going to start airlifting food and water while we continue to "negotiate".
At one point, the captain jumped overboard and began swimming back to his ship. Rather than open fire on the boat, or even fire across the bow to warn them to stay back, the pirates were allowed to re-take the captain.
This is beyond pathetic. Beyond embarrassing. How is this man going to handle a real crisis when confronted with one?
