I Remember It Well

Remember when we were told - ad nauseam - that the whole world, the whole, wide world, wanted us to elect Barack Obama.  Nothing else would do.  We needed to elect this man because only with him could America's "standing" in the world be revived.  Only this man could bring international peace and understanding.  Unfortunately, 53% of American voters were stupid enough to do just that.

So, how's the world reacting?  Haven't you noticed that BO hasn't gotten anywhere with the worlds' leaders, neither friend nor foe?  He has gone to Europe requesting any number of things and been turned down flat.  He has been friendly to Venezuelan strongman Hugh Chavez, only to get called names in return.  He spent an hour getting insulted by Daniel Ortega.  He has promised to re-open Cuba to America.  Seen any glowing comments from either of the Castros?

He bowed low to the King of Saudi Arabia, and our gas prices have risen.  The little guy in Iran hasn't stopped his plans for a nuclear bomb and has, in fact, speeded them up.  Then, there's North Korea, which recently repudiated the 1953 armistice that ended the Korean War, suddenly placing thousands of American soldiers on the front lines of a new war.  And, just in case you missed it, North Korea tested a nuclear bomb on the very day that we stop to remember our honored dead.

So, it would seem, the whole world, the whole, wide world, is standing back laughing at us for being so stupid.  Do we really think that any of these people had our best interests in mind when they told us who to vote for?  They knew, even as we did not, that the man of Hope and Change and Yes We Can is nothing but a fancy suit and fancy words.  Everyone is just sitting back hoping that America will finally get its comeuppance.  Hoping that we arrogant Americans - we arrogant Americans who feed the world, support the world, defend the world - finally get taken down a peg or two.

Before the whole, the whole, wide world, gets busy salivating over the prospect, it might want to take a moment to realize that if we fall, they fall.  Like it or not, America is the indispensable nation.  Once we're toppled, what country will be the next domino to fall?  And, when all the civilized nations of the world have fallen, what then?

If the terrorists think that they can then establish their islamic caliphate around the world, they had better think again.  The nations that sponsor these gnats are completely and utterly dependent on western petrodollars.  Where will their money come from when the west no longer has any?

Like it or not, every country on earth has a stake in ensuring that America succeeds.  And, like it or not, every country on earth had better start realizing it.

Beginning with this one.
