Barack Obama Was Right . . .

when he said that America is no longer a Christian nation.  America may have been founded on Judeo-Christian values, but we ceased to be a Christian nation way back in the 70's when five black-robed monsters declared that killing babies was a constitutional "right".

America will save the whales.  The dolphins.  The rain forest.  The ozone layer.  Terrorists.  America will pretty much save anything except for its babies, which are its future.

The current occupant of the White House campaigned saying that he would sign the Freedom of Choice Act first thing.  This would make abortion the law of the land in all 50 (57 if you're Obama) states.  Abortion at any time for any reason for any female of any age.  No more parental or judicial consent for minors.  And with the revocation of the conscience clause, every single OB/GYN would be forced to perform the butchery that is partial-birth abortion.

Since the latest polls indicate that for the first time in years those claiming to be pro-life outnumber those claiming to be pro-choice, Obama has broken his campaign promise and shelved the Freedom of Choice Act.  For now.

In the past couple of weeks, we witnessed the murder of one of America's foremost baby killers, Dr. George Tiller of Kansas.  While most of us will decry his violent death, especially in the house of the Lord, a lot of us don't really care that he's gone.  The fact that his family will be shutting down his practice forever is all to the good.  The fact that he has just begun his long, warm eternity is another plus.

But the fact that this country is treating his murder as though it were a state assassination - while at the same time not saying much of anything about the soldier who was murdered by a muslim who isn't the least bit sorry - speaks volumes about who we are and what we have become.  The fact that Dr. Tiller could believe that he was a Christian, despite the fact that he killed some 60,000 babies, many by partial-birth abortion, says even more.

There are those who will disagree with this.  "I'm a good Christian", they will say.  Unfortunately, the inescapable fact is that this "Christian" nation has put people in office who believe that killing babies at any time for any reason is absolutely imperative.  The man now in the White House thought it was the first thing that should be done.  The first thing.

As long as this country keeps electing such people, we have no right to call ourselves a Christian nation.

Perhaps if this nation would again bless God, maybe God would again bless America.
