Friday showed us that Obama's not the only one in DC who has an elevated opinion of himself. It was on that date that 219 of our elected officials declared themselves equal to God and, therefore, totally capable of controlling the climate of this planet. If we legislate it, it will happen.
Of course, the American Clean Energy and Security Act is about nothing but power and control and greed and . . . stupidity. Countries that bought into the Kyoto Protocol have discovered that being green is doing nothing but depleting their exchequers. A recent report from Spain indicates that for every 1 green job being created, 2.2 regular jobs are being lost. And, those newly-created jobs are only temporary in nature. Meanwhile, they're doing nothing about controlling their gaseous emissions, much like Congress. In other words, they're bankrupting themselves for no reason. I have read where some countries who bought into this hoax are either rethinking or suspending their programs.
There are those who say that global warming is a religion. It's easy to see that when you see its purveyors tout it. One pea brain was almost shouting hallelujah as he talked about the glories of this Act. I should probably do some research to see how many of these witless wonders drive hybrids or have solar/wind/geothermal power at their homes.
Republicans tried to introduce amendments to call a halt to things if: (1) gas rose to $5 a gallon, and the dimocrats said NO; (2) electricity prices doubled, and the dimocrats said NO; (3) unemployment reached 15%, and the dimocrats said NO. In other words, they don't care what happens as long as their utopian dreams are enacted.

So, while America adds yet another layer of taxes onto an already overburdened populace, China and India - nuclear powers both - will continue their pollution unabated and grow stronger economically. While America pretends that it is leading the world on this issue, other nations will continue to come to their senses and abandon the false religion of global warming. While America pretends that it can do something about the entire global climate, the rest of the world will show it that it can't. While America sinks into third-world status, these false gods will say, "Just give it some more time".
If you see the name of your elected official on this list, remember that come election 2010.

* That is not how his name is spelled, but the program censor at Townhall.com won't allow the proper spelling of his name. You get the idea.
