It's CYA Time in DC

Faced with growing unrest and the plummeting ratings of the imposter in the White House, those who voted for his stimulus package are spreading out to tout how wonderful it is.

Sherrod Brown (D-OH) says that the stimulus is not a failure, it just needs to be spent faster, preferably lots of it in his state of 10% unemployment and an Obama approval rating below 50%.  How much longer before "I think it's beginning to work" just won't cut it any more.

Roland Burris (D-IL) said "The stimulus is not failing.  As a matter of fact, we're doing very good.  We're doing very well, and it's going to kick in more into the next fiscal year".  And this man isn't running for re-election next year.

Susan Collins (R-ME) said "The stimulus was never intended to be a cure-all.  I do believe that its impact is being slowly felt and that it has kept unemployment from being higher than it otherwise would be."   Unemployment is 1.5% higher than Obama said it would be without the stimulus.

By the way, $16 million of these precious stimulus dollars is being spent to protect the salt marsh harvest mouse.  I wasn't aware that salt marsh harvest mice were even looking for jobs.

John Boehner (R-OH) said it well when he said:  "No wonder the American people think we're nuts".
