After a grueling 6 months in office - flying all around the world, apologizing for the country that put him where he is, taking the little wifey on pricey date nights, signing legislation that increases the deficit more than all his predecessors combined, nationalizing private companies, trying to nationalize health care - Obama is taking his family on a summer vacation.
They have selected a site that goes for $50,000 a week, and they are planning to stay there for 2 weeks, bringing the price tag to $100,000, of which we the taxpayers will pick up two-thirds, or $67,000, and that's just room and board. What about the price of getting everyone there, which we have to pay for 100%. And I'm sure that the Queen will have to havea 20-car convoy like she did in England and, of course, the King will have to have a motorcade to take the kiddies down to get an ice cream.
At a time of soaring unemployment, foreclosures, and rising prices on everything, one would think that the children in the White House could think of something besides themselves and their own instant gratification.
Alas, not to be. Not now. Not ever.
