According to Mohamed El Baradei, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Israel is the "number one threat" in the Middle East because of its nuclear capabilities.
Really.
It is assumed that Israel is a nuclear power and has been for several years now. Has Israel ever used a nuclear bomb? Despite decades of provocation? Despite being shelled on a regular basis? Despite the fact that Saddam Hussein shelled it during the Gulf War? Despite the fact that the pipsqueak from Iran wants it wiped off the map? Despite the fact that the UN, when it's not blaming the US, blames it for everything that goes wrong in the world?
No.
Israel has never used a nuclear device, even though it is surrounded by hostile nations with hostile intentions. Israel has shown incredible self-control through the years. However, America is no longer its friend and no one else has its back.
At some point in the (very) near future, Israel may very well have to confirm its nuclear capabilities. Woe betide the nation(s) that forced its hand.
