In an interview with Jim Lehrer, Eric Holder said that he did not consult with Obama before he made the decision to bring KSM to New York for trial.
He talked it over with prosecutors at both the Justice and Defense Departments, "people on staff" at both the Justice and Defense Departments, and with "a whole variety of people, who shared ideas, thoughts, gave cautionary ideas as well". He also talked it over with his wife and his brother.
I'm supposed to believe that he not only had the authority to make such a momentous decision by himself, but that he never once discussed it with the President of the United States.
I don't think so.
