Freedom

I went to church yesterday.  I got in my car and drove myself there.  All by myself.  There was no related male with me.  I did not wear a scarf or a veil or a burqua.  Once there, I talked to men who are not related to me.  One of them even gave me a hug.

A young couple brought their newborn daughter, as well as their other daughter, who merrily toddled around.  Another married young woman, who also drove to church all by herself, was there with her 4-year old daughter.  During the sharing period, several women stood up to share the blessings in their lives.

We all did this unafraid because they are no consequences to our actions.  We are not going to be flogged or imprisoned or stoned to death

Will that be the case when those little girls grow up?

This past Saturday was the 9th anniversay of The Day That Changed Everything.  Where are we today?

Unfortunately, perilously close to disaster.  The man in the White House is an egocentric, spoiled brat, who also happens to be a muslim.  Don't argue with me about this.  He admitted it in a Freudian slip on This Week with George S.  And, he demonstrates it in the statements he makes and the actions he takes.

When Honduras tried to abide by its Constitution, he wasted no time in inteferring and causing trouble.  Yet when Iran was butchering people in the streets, he did nothing.  He can't participate in National Day of Prayer activities, but has no trouble celebrating muslim events.  He instructed his director of NASA to make it Job 1 to make sure that muslims felt good about their contributions to math and science.   His disdain of Israel and preference for Palestine is always in evidence.

When a black man was arrested by white police officers, he wasted no time in saying that the police acted "stupidly".  But when a muslim man shouted "allahu akhbar" before opening fire on unarmed people, he told us not to rush to judgment.  There are no "terrorist" attacks anymore, only "man caused disasters".   He even went so far as to call America a muslim country.

The controversy surrounding the proposed Ground Zero mosque has only made things worse.  When all this came up, he should have had a "beer summit" with the iman and politely informed him that building a mosque so close to the scene of heinous muslim butchery was, to say the least, inappropriate.  But no.  He gave the Imam a big thumbs up and even made us taxpayers pay for his trip to the mideast to secure funding for this thumb-in-the-eye-to-American-sensibilities.

Imam Rauf is a man who wants sharia law in America.  A judge in New Jersey refused to give a muslim woman a restraining order against her abusive and violent husband because the man's "beliefs" entitled him to treat his wife in that manner.  (An appellate court reversed the judge, but there was at least one member of the bench willing to entertain some law other than our own.)

The fact that Obama doesn't make it perfectly clear that sharia law is completely and utterly incompatible with America is worrisome.  As is the fact that he consistently sides against America

I'm afraid that the grinning, benign face that Obama presents to the world is nothing more than a mask.  And I can't help but wonder how far down the slippery slope he's going to take us before even the fawning, sycophantic media realizes that those of us ringing the alarm bells are neither racists nor islamaphobes, simply people who love this country and don't want to see it destroyed.
