Recap

Republicans won more House seats than in any election since 1938, and democrats hold the smallest number of seats since 1946.

50 incumbent democrat members of the House lost their seats, only 2 incumbent Republicans lost.

Independents were 28% of the electorate and supported Republicans by a margin of 56% to 38%, a 36-point switch from 2006, when they supported democrats by 57% to 39%.

Republicans won in 57 of the 83 democrat-held districts in which Obama won with less than 55% of the vote.

Republicans picked up 680 state legislative seats, the highest in the modern era.  In 1994, Republicans picked up 472.  In 1974 democrats picked up 628.

Republicans gained majorities in 19 state legislatures and now control 55.  Democrats control 38.  In 26 states, Republicans control both houses.

Republicans and Independents favor repealing Obamacare by 87% to 7% and 51% to 42%, respectively.

65% of voters said that the stimulus either hurt the economy or did no good and they voted overwhelmingly for Republicans.

54% of voters said they were dissatisfied with Obama, and they voted 85% to 11% for Republicans.

In the face of these numbers, how can anyone say the election was not a repudiation of Obama and democrats?
