The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch recently carried a column from the Houston Chronicle, which quotes Obama as saying, "I just miss, I miss being anonymous. I miss Saturday morning, rolling out of bed, not shaving, getting into my car with my girls, driving to the supermarket, squeezing the fruit, getting my car washed, taking walks. I can't take a walk". Here are some reader comments:
- We miss you being anonymous, too.
- By all means, be our guest, Americans would love it if you returned to anonymity. In fact, why not start today?
- Just do us all a favor and resign.
-
Get your privacy back . . . don't run for re-election. Make everybody Happy!
-
Really, he ran for the office and wanted the job, no surprises, he could always resign, dismiss the security team, save the tax payers a bundle and let Joe take over.
-
The pathological liar is up to his same old tricks again. His poll numbers are dropping like rocks so he figures he wants to try and humanize himself with the American people. See, I'm just like you! Hogwash!
-
We miss you being anonymous too sir, and look forward to when that day comes again.
- Mr. President, your wish is our intent. I think your calendar will open WIDE up come January 21, 2013.
-
Then do the country and us a favor and resign before our country is totally ruined.
-
Don't worry, you will be able to be anonymous after 2012 elections.
These comments help you see why in November, Republicans won all 5 statewide offices (taking 4 of them from democrats), including governor, and retook the Ohio Legislature. Ohio is scheduled to lose 2 congressional seats, and Republicans will be in charge of the redistricting process.
Coincidentally, there are only 2 democrats in Ohio's congressional roster.
