Would You Believe

Back in 2005, the U.N. Environment Program predicted that climate change would create 50 million "climate refugees" by 2010.  Some of the places from where people were supposed to flee were:

     1.  The Bahamas . . . whose population has increased by over 50,000 in the last 10 years.

     2.  St. Lucia . . . whose population has increased by 5% in the last 10 years
.

     3.  The Seychelles . . . whose population has increased by 9% since 2002.

     4.  The Solomon Islands . . . whose population has increased by 100,000 in the last 10 years.

Since their dire predictions did not come true, the U.N. Environment Program is now saying that climate change will create "50 Million Environmental Refugees" by 2020.
