Losers of the Week

Joy Behar for comparing Sarah Palin to "jock itch."

Atheists
who seek to become chaplains in the military.

Brad Johnson
of the Center for American Progress for blaming the recent tornadoes on the "congressional delegations of " Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, George, Virginia, and Kentucky for "overwhelmingly" voting to reject the science that polluting the climate is dangerous.  They are deliberately ignoring the warning from scientists."

Mr. Johnson was relying on Kevin Trenberth who said, "Given that global warming is unequivocal, the null hypothesis should be that all weather events are affected by global warming rather than the inane statements along the lines of 'of course we cannot attribute any particular weather event to global warming.'"

Firstly, if global warming is actually occurring, then it is occurring, regardless of how people feel about it or how they vote in congress.  Secondly, the inane comment is that all weather events are affected by global warming.  If it's hot when it's supposed to be hot and cold when it's expected to be cold and rainy when it's expected to be rainy and sunny when it's expected to be sunny - and all of these weather events are affected by global warming - then why is global warming such a threat?

Eugene Robinson
for playing the race card yet again in his most recent column, in which he said, "It seems obvious to me that this campaign to paint the president as some sort of usurper . . . has everything to do with race.  Does anyone disagree?"

Yes, Mr. Robinson, millions of us disagree that criticism of Obama is about race.  During the 2008 campaign, the exceedingly white Mr. McCain was forced to produce his birth certificate.  Was that about race?

Mr. Robinson also says in the same column ". . . Obama's stellar academic record - a little too stellar, perhaps?  A bit too perfect?"  Truth is, we know absolutely nothing about Obama's academic record because he refuses to release his transcripts.

Like most of the left, Mr. Robinson is desperately clinging to the Obama myth because there's no reality to hang onto.  Obama is highly partisan, not the colossus who could bridge the partisan divide that was sold to us during the campaign.  He can give a great speech, so long as it's written by somebody else and the teleprompter is working.  Left to his own devices, he can barely put together a coherent sentence.  He has not restored our standing in the world.  His complete and utter incompetence has left this country on the verge of ruin.

In short, the reality of Obama is nothing at all like the bill of goods sold to us in 2008.  In an way it's kind of sad that the only ammunition the left has with which to refute the fact is, in fact, no ammunition at all.  The response to every criticism of Obama  cannot always be "you're a racist."  Like the boy who cried wolf, pretty soon no one hears that anymore.

And by the way, always yelling racism is exactly what keeps racism alive in this country.
