The left has been working overtime to heap praise on Obama for getting Osama. Lost in the hoopla is the fact that it took Obama 16 hours and a "sleep on it" to make the decision. (This gift was dumped in his lap and still he dithered? Was he hoping that Osama would make a run for it to spare him actually having to make a decision?)
But I digress.
The left has uniformly barely given a nod to Bush, even though it was his policies and programs - so vilified by the left - that made this moment possible. Obama didn't even mention Bush's name in his ungracious victory-lap speech. The right, on the other hand, has not hesitated to congratulate Obama.
So, it was with great surprise that I saw on the ticker last night that Nancy Pelosi had called Bush to congratulate him. Such an act from such a partisan is a breath of fresh air in the fetid swamp that is today's politics.
It would be nice if it wasn't the only one.
