One of the reasons I have more faith in Rasmussen polls than in other polls is that Rasmussen samples likely voters, as opposed to just registered voters. I tend to disbelieve any numbers coming from mainstream media sources because of their overwhelming bias to the left. The Associated Press has just justified my belief.
In a survey of 1,001 adults, AP reports a 60% approval rating for Obama, including more than 50% on how he's handling the economy, with 73% saying they are confident that he can effectively handle terrorists threats.
I wonder what that last number would be if sources like the AP had revealed that it took Obama 16 hours and a "sleep on it" to decide what to do. But I digress.
Rasmussen reports that Obama barely got a bounce out of the death of bin Laden. It's been reported that Bush got a bigger bounce after bagging Saddam. So how to explain AP's numbers.
Because 46% of the respondents were democrats. Only 29% were Republicans and 4% Independents. I guess the other 21% don't know what they are. Kinda easy for a democrat to get good marks when nearly 50% of the respondents are democrats.
