I would imagine that most of the companies that advertise hire advertising firms to come up with ads that bombard us when watching TV. But, I just don't understand some of the ads I see.
Why is some woman talking about a colon cleanser at a wedding reception? What's the idea behind that? I'm so put off by the concept of the commercial that I've never paid attention to the product being hawked.
Why is there a commercial about toilet paper that links to the website "enjoythego.com"? Really? Enjoy the go?
What about the commercial from Mercedes that shows a car with chains on the doors? When the car accelerates and goes far enough, the chains pull the doors off. Well, what did they think was going to happen? What's the message of the commercial? Don't put chains on your doors and then drive away?
And what about pcmatic.com? The commercial opens with a guy starting to walk out the door because there's something wrong with his computer. He's going to the store, but leaving his computer at home? How's the tech going to work on it?
Then there's the PetMed commercial. Get all the pet medicine you need without leaving home. How do you know what you need unless you've first taken your pet to the vet?
This goes hand-in-hand with the contact lens commercial about delivering contacts to your home, as though you didn't have to go see the eye doctor first.
And I simply do not get the ED medicine commercial that shows two people sitting in separate bathtubs on the top of a hill.
Hiring the advertising firm costs money. Running the ads cost money. If these ads were the "winners", i.e., the ones the company chose to go with, just imagine what the losing ads were like.
