Attempting to get away from the hornet's nest he stirred up, Obama has now come out with this grand compromise regarding religious employers, insurance, and birth control. You'd better sit down because this will really WOW you.
Instead of forcing religious employers to pay the insurance premiums for such things, Obama is simply going to force insurers of religious institutions to give these things away for free to the employees of religious employers.
When insurance companies are forced to give away things for free, they have to raise rates to cover it. So, in essence, religious employers are ultimately going to be paying for the things they're objecting to.
And in the same vein, why isn't there a single legislator in this country smart enough to grasp the very simple fact that forcing insurers to cover more and more is what has driven up the price of health insurance. And it's only going to get worse when insurers are forced to give things away for free.
