Losers of the Week

Administrators of the school district at Lee's Summit West High School, Kansas City Missouri, for suspending two boys, one of whom is almost an eagle scout, for using the word "noose."

A black student claimed he was "offended" and just like that, noose is now a racial slur.

The two boys were originally suspended for 10 days, then reduced to 5.  However, their grades will still be affected.

Words fail me.

Nuclear Pakistan

Pakistan is our ostensible ally in the war on terror.  We had better hope that cooler heads prevail and soon, because we cannot afford for Pakistan's nukes to get into the hands of terrorists.

Pakistan went nuclear during the Clinton co-presidency.  Who was minding the store while Bill was attending to the needs of his lesser brain?  Well according to Hill, she was.  So, what was she doing when this happened?  And, why didn't she know about it before we did?

Perhaps she was pawing through the 900 or so raw FBI files that were in the possession of a former bar bouncer.  Maybe she was going through Vince Foster's briefcase looking for the suicide note that miraculously showed up after it had already been searched a time or two.  Perhaps she was looking for the missing billing records that just suddenly appeared in the living quarters of the White House.  Were these the ones found on a desk or the ones found in a closet?  Who can keep track.

Bill's adolescent pursuits always took priority over his responsibilities as President.  If this were not so, we would never have heard of Monica and he would never have been impeached.  In fact, if Bill had ever taken any of his responsibilities seriously, we would never have heard of Paula Jones, Kathleen Whilley, Gennifer Flowers and, of course, bimbo eruptions.

Hill was the only adult in the relationship.  Still is.  And now, she wants back in the White House where Bill will have nothing but time on his hands.  How long can he behave himself?  Perhaps we'll have a new cabinet department - Secretary of Keeping Tabs on the First Spouse.

The Clinton co-presidency is directly responsible for the terrorist threat America faces today.  We need a president who can devote all of his/her energies to the job at hand.

Hill cannot do that.  She will always have to have one eye on Bill.

Happy Thanksgiving

"We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of heaven; we have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity; we have grown in numbers, wealth and power as no other nation has ever grown.  But we have forgotten God.  We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us.  We have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own.  Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us."

Abraham Lincoln
Thanksgiving Proclamation of 1863

Imagine what he'd have to say today.

Bill or Hill?

Hillary Clinton has spent seven years in the Senate not really doing much of anything.  She has done so for a very specific purpose:  not doing anything prevents having to answer questions about what she may have done if she had actually done anything.  Nobody ever thinks to ask why she hasn't done anything.

Therefore, just to keep my head from exploding, I have decided to accept the following:  the "experience" to which Hillary Clinton refers when she speaks of herself is in reality the eight (long) years that her husband Bill was president.

So, is Bill or Hill responsible for the 8-year failure to:

    1.  Do anything about Social Security.
    2.  Do anything about Medicare.
    3.  Do anything about terrorism.
    4.  Do anything about global warming.
    5.  Do anything about energy independence.

Was Bill or Hill responsible for Operation Infinite Reach - launched right after grand jury testimony in August 1998 - which bombed facilities in Afghanistan and Sudan that we American taxpayers had to pay $45 million to rebuild?

Was Bill or Hill responsible for Operation Desert Fox - launched right after Bill was impeached in December 1998 - in order to degrade Saddam Hussein's ability to manufacture, deploy, or use weapons of mass destruction?

Was Bill or Hill responsible for reducing our military by 8 Army Divisions, 11 Air Force Tactical Wings, and 231 Navy ships?

Was Bill or Hill responsible for the fact that, at the end of the Clintons' presidency, there wasn't a Navy carrier battle group in the Pacific for the first time in nearly 50 years?

Was Bill or Hill responsible for the following during their presidency:

    1.  HUD wasted $18 billion.
    2.  Medicaid lost $17 billion, annually.
    3.  The USDA reported $660 million was stolen, annually.
    4.  In 1994, the Small Budget Administration reported that it had lost about $56 million on loans due to errors in the liquidation process.
    5.  In budget year 1998, the Army could not account for $833 million in shipped inventory.
    6.  In 1999, computer breakdowns and missing paperwork left the Department of Education unable to account for $500 million in unawarded grants and up to $6 billion in discrepancies.

Naturally, Hill wants to claim credit for the good things - balanced budget - while letting Bill take the rap for the bad - her health care scheme.

However, if wants to run on her husband's record, then she must run on all of it, even NAFTA, which she so wants to disavow.

The Clintons have already had one co-presidency.  What on earth have we done so wrong to deserve another one?

Is Waterboarding Torture?

Torture is most commonly defined as something that causes agony or pain, the infliction of intense pain.

Does this include waterboarding?  I would say no.  I do so for the simple reason that an individual recently volunteered to be waterboarded.  I submit that he would not have volunteered to have his fingernails pulled out or bamboo shoved under them and then set on fire.  I submit that he would not have volunteered to be flogged.  I submit that he would not have volunteered to have electrodes strapped to his most sensitive body parts and then turned on.  I submit that he would not have volunteered for chemical interrogation.

I submit, therefore, that he voluntarily submitted to something that might have caused him discomfort but not agony, i.e., not torture.

It has been said that subjecting detainees to loud music is torture.  Then, rock concerts constitute torture and should be abolished.

It has been said that subjecting detainees to temperature extremes is torture.  Then, I should have the right to sue Uncle Sam for the day I almost froze my butt off in the local federal court building.

It has been said that the treatment of prisoners at Abu Ghraib was torture.  Then, fraternity hazings are torture and should be abolished.

By using the word torture to describe every single thing that makes someone uncomfortable, we take away its meaning.  If we take away its meaning, what word will we have left to describe what the islamofascists do on a regular basis?

Bad News

"I'm sorry", says the doctor, "but the news is bad.  You have cancer, a particularly aggressive form of cancer that if left unchecked is going to spread rapidly."

"What are we going to do," says the patient.

"Well, my plan is to go at this slowly.  First, I'm just going to watch it for awhile and see what happens.  Then, I'm going to nibble at it around the edges and see what happens.  Then I think I'll discuss it with other doctors and get their opinions.  Don't worry, though, I'll keep at it," says the doctor.

"If this cancer is as aggressive as you say, shouldn't you attack it at its source, right now," says the patient.

"Well, I guess we could do that, now that you mention it," says the doctor.

If your doctor fought your cancer the way we are currently fighting the cancer that is radical islamism, you would die.

Redacted

No one drinks from the well of American freedom more deeply than those in the entertainment industry.  No one smacks their lips more loudly, either.  They are the first to claim that freedom of speech covers everything they say and do.  And, they are the first to claim that us little people are abusing our freedom of speech when we say that we don't like what they say and do.  Remember the Dixie Chicks?  But, that's how it is with the Left.

Brian De Palma has made a very comfortable living from the millions he has earned exercising that right to freedom of speech.  It is more than unfortunate that he has now used that right to glorify an ugly incident  from the American presence in Iraq.

If Mr. De Palma was looking to make a movie about the ugliness and brutality of war, he needn't have looked farther than the events of 9/11 or the beheading of Nicholas Berg by the vile waste of humanity that was Zarqawi.

Obviously, he wasn't looking for just ugly and brutal, he was looking for American ugly and brutal.  He stuck his thumb in Uncle Sam's eye and said, "What are you going to do about it?".

Hopefully, those of us in America who love our country and want it to continue as a beacon of freedom to the rest of the world will take a pass on this movie.  We'll save our hard-earned dollars for something more uplifting, rather them putting them into the hands of just another Leftist who is "full of sound and fury signifying nothing."

If Mr. De Palma was a filmmaker in Iran, he could have never made such a movie.  And if he had, he wouldn't live long enough to enjoy it.  Maybe Mr. De Palma should take some of his downtime to consider that.

How Sad

The pathetic state of the Democrat slate of Presidential candidates has been confirmed by the front-runner.

Hillary Clinton took the opportunity of the latest debate to once again portray herself as the most experienced and qualified candidate to be President.

Mrs. Clinton is in the first year of her second term of elective office, without a single major legislative achievement to her credit and the failure of her plan to socialize health care to her detriment.

And this is the best the dems have to offer?

Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid

One of the loonier comments from the Left stated that we should not be afraid of terrorists, they're mothers and fathers.  Yes they are.  Mothers and fathers who are only too happy to strap bombs onto their children and send them forth.

From Saudi Arabia, a country made wealthy by American dollars and ruled by terrorist sympathizers and financiers, comes word that a woman who was gang-raped has been sentenced to 200 lashes.  What was her crime?

Originally, she was sentenced to only 90 lashes because she was in the car of an unrelated male at the time of the rape.  The rapists got sentences between one and five years in jail.

But, the young woman appealed, saying this was not fair.  For her crime of appealing, she was sentenced to another 110 lashes because she had attempted to "aggravate and influence the judiciary through the media."

This is our future and the future of the civilized world if we cannot defeat the terrorist threat.

Like it?

What Experience?

Hillary Clinton likes to say that she has the "experience" to be President.  What experience, you ask.  Well, now we have an answer.

"But Hillary Clinton is confident enough about the Clinton administration's record to make it a central theme of her campaign, boasting of the balanced budget and the economic growth, along with more obscure accomplishments such as bringing electronic medical records to the Veterans Administration."  (Boston Globe)

That, of course, would be the Bill Clinton administration. So, whose accomplishments is she boasting about?  What she really the power behind the throne?  Was she the one calling all the shots with Bill as her front man?  If that's the case, then she's already had her 8 years.

Maybe the answer is that she's hijacking his record because she has none of her own.

Here's another accomplishment of the Clinton administration:  9/11

Taking credit for that one, too.

The Left Is Stupid

It just really is.  It makes no sense whatsoever.  It has no common sense.  It can never see the consequences of its actions.  And, there's no cure.

1.  At a recent congressional hearing on the global warming hoax, Rep. Jay Inslee (D-WA) took President Bush to task for not doing enough to stop global warming.  According to Mr. Inslee, there are miles of dead trees in Washington.  "As long as George Bush allows unchecked CO2 emissions into the air, these forests are going to die."

For Pete's sake. Just two years ago he was responsible for Hurricane Katrina.  Now, he's responsible for dead trees, too.

Here are some inconvenient truths for all the global warmists out there:  Al-Mr-Global-Warming-Himself-Gore was vice-president of this country for 8 very long years and not once during the entire Clinton/Gore administration was anything done with regard to global warming.  In fact, the Kyoto Protocol was not only NOT ratified during their tenure, it was overwhelmingly rejected.

Why don't all the global warmists out there put their money where their mouths are and SHUT UP.

2.  San Francisco, in an effort to conserve energy and thus fight global warming, was going to turn off the electricity to the Golden Gate Bridge, City Hall, Alcatraz, and other parts of the city for ONE WHOLE HOUR!  Not one whole hour every day, just one whole hour on just one day.  WOW!

Perhaps someone should tell this NCPs the tremendous amount of energy that is going to be expended by turning the power back on.

3.  Kansas has jumped on the global warming hysteria bandwagon and has denied an energy company the right to built a coal-powered facility.

Hopefully, the good people of Kansas will send these NCPs packing as soon as their utility bills skyrocket and some idiot in the state capitol says, I feel your pain.

4.  King Middle School in Portland, Maine, plans to dispense birth control bills to girls as young as 11, and they're going to do so without parental notification, let alone consent.  If that very same girl falls down at recess and breaks her arm, they won't give her so much as an aspirin for the pain.  No treatment whatsoever will be rendered until her parents are contacted.

Give her a birth control pill.

5.  The city council of Montgomery County, Maryland, has become a part of the ever-expanding circle of those who want to be all-inclusive and never, but never, discriminate against anybody.  So determined are they that they're going to make sure that all "transgender" individuals will be guaranteed protection in "public accommodations", including locker rooms and rest rooms.

Apparently, transgender people are "harmed" psychologically if they cannot use the bathroom of their choice.

All this means is that any pervert of any sex can now use any "public accommodation" of his or her choice.  Don't want a man in the locker room or rest room with your little girl, tough.  And the Left screams about what President Bush is doing to privacy.

6.  Barack Obama states that when he is President, he will use diplomacy with Iran.  Crack a history book, Barry.

Diplomacy has never ever, never ever, worked in the mid-East.  How many "peace" accords have there been between Israel and Palestine?  Which one of them worked?  Saddam Hussein is not dead because of diplomacy  Libya did not give up its nuclear program because of diplomacy.  And, the mad mullahs of Iran are not going to give up their nuclear ambitions because of diplomacy.

Grasp the concept.

Let The Lies Begin

Hillary Clinton is not even President - yet - and we are already being treated to what a second Clinton presidency would look like.

The Clinton campaign has recently been hit with charges of  planting questions, i.e., picking people in the audience to ask pre-arranged questions and then making sure that the candidate calls on that person.

"Well it was news to me" Clinton said.  "And neither I nor my campaign approve of that.  And it will certainly not be tolerated."

Right.

It wasn't news to her.  She and her campaign do approve of it.  And, it's certainly going to be tolerated in the future.  Now that they've been caught, though, they're going to have to be more careful in the future.

Oh by the way, let's not forget that when a similar incident happened at another event, a Clinton spokesman lied about the plant.  The Clinton campaign worker that solicited the plant was really just a friend of the plant.  They weren't talking about questions for the candidate.  They were just talking over old times.

Right.

With regard to the ongoing case of the man who claims to have put on a $2 million fundraiser in exchange for Clinton help in the future, the woman who is determined to be President of the United States, or know the reason why, had this to say:

"I have no recollection whatsoever of discussing any arrangement with him whereby he would support my campaign for the United States Senate in exchange for anything from me or then-President Clinton, and I do not believe I made any such statement because I believe I would remember such a discussion if it had occurred."

That is going to be the standard press release of any second Clinton presidency:

"I have no recollection whatsoever of ____________________________________, and I do not believe I made any such statement because I believe I would remember such a discussion if it had occurred."

Here's a thought that just chills me to the bone.  If Hillary is elected, Bill will be back in the White House, and he'll have exactly what he had the first time - power, privilege, and perks - with none of the responsibilities.  He'll probably spend more taxpayer money the second time than he did the first flying all around the world - repairing our image, as it were.

America cannot afford another Clinton presidency, in every sense of the word.  Is America really going to be stupid enough to do it?

And None Dare Call It Treason, Part II

There it was in the Sunday paper, front page, above the fold:  "Rising Oil Price Fuels Sea Change."  Apparently, oil consumers are "pumping more than $2 trillion into the coffers of oil companies and oil-producing nations this year alone."  You had to read down several paragraphs before seeing that this is putting money into the hands of the very countries that want to destroy us.

That's a dirty little secret Congress doesn't want you to know about.  Let's not talk about it, then no one will know.  Let's blame the oil companies.  The American public will never catch on.  However, despite Congress' belief that we Americans are stupid, there are many of us intelligent enough to put 2 and 2 together and actually come up with 4.  Even though we know that the oil companies are taking us for a ride, we also know that they are not the only demons in the game.

We also know that this is wholly unnecessary.  America has known reserves and unknown reserves.  Congress, however, has refused to tap those sources, first at the request of the environmentalists and now at the request of global warmists.  As a result, America is very nearly at the complete mercy of those who would happily dance on our grave.

For right now, there are two unescapable facts of life:  (1) oil is the lifeblood of the world, (2)  it's going to stay that way until every drop of oil has been drained from this earth.  Just as there is never going to be a cure for cancer, or any of the other diseases that plague mankind, as long as there are millions for "research," there is not going to be any cure for our oil dependence until there isn't any.

And, there is no concerted effort to wean the world off oil.  Wind power is not being advanced because it simply won't work on a large scale.  Besides, the environmentalists don't want the windmills (a) interfering with their gin-soaked views, and (2) killing birds.  Solar power is not being advanced except on a limited basis.  New coal plants are not being built because of the stupid belief in human-induced global warming.  Environmentalists (there they are again) are objecting to nuclear facilities.  What are we left with?

With the rising price of oil, Iran is better able to deal with the sanctions that have been imposed against it.  Besides, we all know that there are countries making back deals with Iran just like they did with Iraq, so sanctions are darn near worthless.  Venezuela is becoming more and more bellicose and is likely to stay that way until such time as Chavez meets the usual fate of dictators.

Russia, the world's #2 exporter of oil, has built "the third-largest gold and hard-currency reserves in the world."  Don't be surprised if Russia uses their new muscle to reclaim their lost territories.  Of course, if they did, it would be because of capitalism and not communism, which should cause at least Marx to spin in his grave.

Meanwhile, here in America, "the rising bill for imported petroleum lowers already anemic consumer savings rates, adds to inflation, worsens the trade deficit, undermines the dollar, and makes it more difficult for the Federal Reserve to balance its competing goals of fighting inflation and sustaining growth."

In other words, America is sinking while the most dangerous nations of the world are rising.  So, what is Congress doing about this?

Last I heard, Nancy Pelosi is calling for another vote on funding the war in Iraq, bringing the total to 58.  There is no length the democrats won't go to to make sure that the war in Iraq is not only lost, but lost on President Bush's watch, consequences be hanged.  Henry Waxman is looking into the firing of some US attorneys, even though I don't remember him being so incensed when Bill Clinton, through Janet Reno, fired every single US attorney in the country.  Meanwhile, over in the Senate, they're looking into how televangelists are using the millions that are pouring into their coffers.  Don't these people know that misusing other peoples' money is the sole prerogative of Congress, and they will zealously guard their turf.

Nero is fiddling while Rome burns.  Maybe the reason we haven't had an attack in 6 years is because the terrorists know what a lot of us know:  we're going to destroy ourselves from within, lead by the worthless do-nothings in DC who couldn't see the big picture with a magnifying glass.

But, none dare call it treason.

More, Please

Three cheers to the jury that stuck it to the Westboro Baptist Church for their despicable actions in protesting at the funeral services of America's honored dead.

You can hate homosexuals.  You can hate the war in Iraq.  You can hate George Bush.  You can even hate America.  But none of these justifies the actions of this group of people.  The funeral of a beloved family member is one of the hardest things we do in life, especially if it's a child, and families do not deserve any more pain than they are already suffering.

I visited The Westboro Baptist Church Home Page and have never seen anything so vile in my life.  Satan-worshipping atheists are probably more Christian than these "Christians" claim to be.

The first thing that greets you is "God Hates Fags", which is simply not true.  The Westboro people love to spout John 3:16, but obviously have no understanding of its meaning.

"For God so loved that world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

That's a two-part verse.  The first part states that God loved us so much that He gave His Son as a lasting sacrifice for our sins.  The second part states that eternal life is for those who believe in Him.

Simply put, Christians are taught that they must accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior in order to get to heaven.  I know that a lot of people want to dispute that notion, and I'm sure that they do so because they want to do exactly as they please here on this earth but still go to heaven.  I'm sure many more on banking on the last-minute, "You and me, God.  Right."  With more and more churches ignoring the Bible, it's not surprising that such thoughts are out there.

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."  II Timothy 3:16

There it is.  God loves the world and, contrary to the hate preached by Westboro, that means the homosexuals as well.  If Matthew Shepard and Diane Whipple are in hell, then it has everything to do with their not accepting Christ and nothing to do with their sexual preferences.

The actions of the Westboro people are as removed from God and Christianity as the east is from the west.  Here's hoping that more people file suit so that more verdicts are rendered so that, hopefully, these people will disappear from the public conversation.

"Dear Friend,

Thank you for contacting me about the completely false and slanderous accusation that I have refused to sing the National Anthem or say the Pledge of Allegiance.  I knew when I decided to run for President that a few unscrupulous people would make up lies about me, and this is just another example of the kind of personal attacks and smears that I will move beyond as President.

I am honored to lead a life of public service, and it is inconceivable that I would ever refuse to say the Pledge or sing the Anthem.  Anybody who won't say the Pledge shouldn't be running for President.  Every time I have been elected or reelected to the Illinois Senate and the United States Senate, I have proudly raised my right hand, placed my left hand on the Bible, and sworn to 'support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.'  And I look forward to swearing the Presidential Oath of office on January 20, 2009.

Thank you again for contacting me, and for sharing this message with anyone you know who has been misled by this vicious smear."

Sincerely,

Barack Obama
